From September 9th–11th, 2025, the Association for Kenya Business Events (AKBE) proudly participated in the Africa MICE Summit, held under the theme:
“Catalysing Trade & Investment in Africa through Business Events.”
The summit brought together industry leaders, policymakers, and global stakeholders to chart the future of Africa’s MICE industry. A recurring highlight was the strong call for Kenya to operationalize a national convention bureau — an advocacy priority that AKBE continues to champion.
Anchoring the Africa MICE Awards Gala Dinner
One of AKBE’s proudest moments at the summit was anchoring the Africa MICE Awards Gala Dinner, hosted at the iconic Nairobi National Park. The Gala celebrated excellence in the industry, recognizing and honoring outstanding contributors to Africa’s MICE growth. This flagship role reinforced AKBE’s position as a leading convener and voice for Kenya’s MICE industry.
Supporting Future Talent
In line with our commitment to building future capacity, AKBE welcomed interns from Boma International Hospitality College, providing them with valuable hands-on exposure and mentorship during the summit. The event also featured a Future Leaders Forum, showcasing the next generation of professionals shaping the MICE sector.
