Sopa Lodges is an Enterprise Partner of AKBE, and a collection of safari lodges and resorts set in hand-picked locations across Kenya and Tanzania, chosen for their panoramic views and proximity to some of East Africa’s richest wildlife areas. The group describes itself as offering memorable experiences delivered with a warm East African welcome, with properties designed to blend into their surrounding landscapes rather than impose on them.

In Kenya, Sopa operates five distinct properties, each tied to a different ecosystem:

Amboseli Sopa Lodge sits on 200 acres of private land in the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro, near Amboseli National Park. The lodge carries a rustic charm, with Africa’s highest snowcapped mountain forming its backdrop, making it a favourite for travellers chasing iconic elephant-and-Kilimanjaro views. s

Lake Naivasha Sopa Resort is spread across roughly 150 acres of Acacia-studded grassland on the shores of Lake Naivasha. Resident giraffe, waterbuck, and both Vervet and Colobus monkeys roam the grounds, while hippos famously come ashore at night to graze on the lawns — an unusually intimate wildlife experience for a resort setting.

Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge is perched on the hills along the western edge of the Great Rift Valley, overlooking Lake Nakuru and its national park. The setting is regarded as a paradise for birdwatchers and wildlife lovers, with sweeping views over the lake and surrounding landscape.

Masai Mara Sopa Lodge sits within reach of Kenya’s most celebrated reserve. The Masai Mara is famous for its lion populations, the Great Wildebeest Migration, and the Maasai people with their distinctive customs and dress, and remains one of Africa’s signature safari destinations.

Samburu Sopa Lodge is built on elevated ground inside the Samburu National Reserve in northern Kenya, giving guests panoramic views over the shrubland and the hills beyond. The region is known for its arid beauty and the “Samburu Special Five” — reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebra, Beisa oryx, gerenuk, and Somali ostrich — species not easily seen in southern Kenya.
